I'll soon be purchasing a Powerbook and could do with an external hard drive with about 160Gb available. I want something small and fairly lightweight but i appreciate that a device with that much gig on it could be weighty. Also, something mains free would be a bonus. Any advice or pointers towards products that fit the bill would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What about this one:
http://www.dvd-rwmedia.com/value…
It says its self-powered.. which I think means it can run without a mains adapter.. you'll need to buy the 3.5 inch harddrive separately.. but these can be found fairly cheaply..
Hope that helps..

go with the la cie drives. I've got two and they've never failed me. They are worth the price.
