ok... i'm in development on a new magazine for exposing new illustrators to the eye of the public... but it seems like this has been done a million times - ANY suggestions on something new/needed ?

yes, you're right, it has been done many times, but good luck.

How will you find the Illustrators to be featured in your magazine?
Will there be a fee for them? Or are they strictly being featured because you are interested in their work?
There are not to many magazines like this...that I know of at least.
I'm an Illustrator in NYC...you can check out my work at:

I'm finding most illustrators by word of mouth.
No fee.
They aren't featured just becuase I'm interested in them... I want to have a well balanced mix of talent and creativity that pushes away from current trends.
Nice work Jib.

Where will the funds be coming from? Advertising? Who will be the market to sell ads to?
Not a cheap project.

i'm in the middle of getting my magazine out now... starting up is as hard as it gets... 1000 17-sheet half size booklets is running me about $800-900 just for printing the guts (and that's xerox.. offset's about 1200 with no bleeds)...
don't start a new one, just fund mine. haha
