hero is a nice movie but is2002, tarantino is not involved in the production, its just a marketing strategy to promote it in the us...

Sorry for bumpin' an old thread but...
I'm dying to see this. I remember seeing trailers back in 01 or 02 and my mouth was on the floor. I'm just dying to the see the beautiful cinematography. The colors and everything just look amazing. It's out on import DVD if you can find it. Check your local anime shops.

Yeah you have to actually look at the credits for movies like this. This movie was made 2 years ago and Miramax bought the rights, so they have been sitting on it for a long time. Tarantino likes the movie so they just say "Quentin Tarantino presents Hero" in the trailer and people will go see it because they think he made it. They did the same thing a few years ago with putting Tarantino's name another movie like this that he had nothing to do with, I think it was called Iron Monkey.

Besides the fact Kill Bill 2 came out 4 months ago, there's is no way he would be able to make another movie especially of this scale in that time period.

Yeah this looks awesome I am going to check it out soon. I agree w/ the cinematography. Looks like there will be some amazing battle sequences as well.
Authentic Tarantino always has the signature dialogue.
"So pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fuckin' car!"

I saw AVP last night at a 9:30 showing with a buddy on a $6 deal. We were the only two in the theater. We talked the whole movie and make jokes, which actually made it a little better of a piece of shit.
After we wished we'd spent the 6 bucks on really cheap beer.

tarantino is just a brand for this, i saw this movie in Hong Kong way back when it was first out, it's beautiful.
taratino jumps on band-wagon

tarantino my arse! total marketing ploy to get bums on seats over here...like the film even needs his bloody name added to it to do that....it takes crouching tiger and expands on all it's most awesome elements. Zhang Yimou is excellence as a director personified and Hou Yong's cinematography is epic.
Get the DVD box set from ebay:

Im with Jevad, get the DVD via the internet or go down to ur nearest China town and cop the DVD. I got mine a month before the film dropped in the states.

I wanna see it on a big screen. I wish they were playing it at the Cinerama her ein Seattle. 70MM screen!!

yeah i thought that tarantino ploy was done in bad taste
but what a beautiful movie. i was weary of it because jet li was involved, but he does an awesome job. my god the movie is beautiful

why on earth would you be wary of ANY film that had Jet Li in it?
