What's wrong with IE5 on Mac?
CSS seems to bitch bigtime.

It's obsolete and nobody is bothered fixing it?

yeah, tomas, remember the day you checked this site for me? it took a long while before we got it right..
in the end it worked in ANY browser on any platform.. except Mac IE5..
so you better drop it..if you can..

I fear I can't as the client uses it.. grrr arr grr.
*sigh*
I'll do it in tables then. :/

I quited trying to fix CSS to display properly in IE5/6. Only to browsers that respect W3C standards, namely Firefox and Mozilla.
Hopefully the Windows service pack2 [+ IE update] will [probably] take care of those problems.
Sincerely, if it isn't standard compliant [CSS, XHTML, etc,] I just don't give a fook.

no kid, Janne.
making a site 'viewable' for IE using is an headache. problems with correct padding, margins, div positions, IE only attributes, parsing XML schemas....
The number of 'stitches' and additions one has to make for a site to display correctly is 2 much for moi. The code looks like a ragged doll. An ugly rag doll.

yep, i will never understand why someone needs to hack the code to make simple buttons and the likes visible in one of the most popular browsers. i'd say it's corporate arrogance. M$ has enough power to do something about it but they're quite simply a bunch of ignorant asses..

IE... my arch nemesis. I'm pretty much in the same camp as unfittoprint. I'll do my best to get it to work in IE/Mac, but I stop short of style sheet switching and other work-arounds. It's such a pain in the ass when it shouldn't even be a problem these days. One of my teachers uses IE/Mac and I worked on her all semester to get her to use ANYthing else.
Anyone else notice that if you take the DOCTYPE out, IE gets a lot friendlier to absolutely positioned elements?
