I've been reading the archives about Flash MX 2004/Professional and how it doesn't support gradient masking.
Am I crazy, or didn't Flash use to support gradient masking at one point!?
I find it totally rediculous that MX 2004/Professional actually LOSES some functionality when you upgrade to it.

nah, you can dummy it sometimes by using a png with a grad from your bg colour into transparent and animating it, but obviously that only works depending on what you need.

as riddled with bugs as 2004 is, no previous version of flash ever supported gradient masks
