That hurricane is now a Cat. 4 with 145 mph winds when it came ashore.
Anyone there? Anyone ever been in one?

my sister and her family live in River View (near Brandon, i believe). my sister's office closed for the weekend yesterday, so at least i know she's home.

in 1995, I think, when I was a puppy, I went to Nassau, Bahamas for a vacation. It was during Hurricane Edith. Very scary, but not as scary as being in a sandstorm in the middle of an African desert.
