i saw bits of the cycling today and they just drove like a ton of laps thru the city over and over... i have been in Athens in the past, but this was surely a different Athens!
so cleeean, heck, the people were even 'forced' to clean their rooftops for the helicopter-shots... i swear! Athens used to be pretty damn messy, also the rooftops.. garbage and rubbish all over..
haha.. people sure had some serious spring-cleaning event there.. hehe..

oh they also said 4 billion (yes...Bbbillion) people watched the opening.. that is so much i can hardly believe it.. that's like any person with a TV set that still sort of operates has watched this?

is 'een biljoen' in Dutch.. which sound more like a billion..aargh..

it's the first day, everyone's still recovering from the opening ceremonies. Plus it's mostly preliminaries.
the swimming finals were packed.

yeah, at the 'tour d'Athene' hardly anyone was watching..
but do not forget it was like 40 degrees celsius in the sun out there...
i'd stay inside as well..

and like one of the dutch commentary said a lot of greeks are going to the islands the first two weeks of august. I guess you can compare this with "black saturday" en france when a lot of frenchies are going on a holiday.
Didn't know Guam was under usa. So which state is Guam???
