hmm so I got back to work today after a few days at the beach and... was given a months notice.. the company will soon be finito.

thanks everyone, I'm not really that fussed over it (other than the potential cashflow ramifications), I've been meaning to get a move on for a while so I guess it's the kick up the ass I needed.. I will make things happen... somehow!
mike_g - I'm mainly a print designer but a bit of an all rounder, I've worked on promotional campaigns for the leisure industrty, above and below the line, ads, ID's and bits of illustration.. ideally I want to move into something either less mainstream, or at least more stylistically led.

I see, yeah I never would have guessed you were in print, but knowing that now, yeah you're totally an all rounder, I dig your website, great ideas on there. It's too bad that Output isn't still looking, with your background and steez I could see you fitting in there.
Do you know if it's really tough finding a print-based position in the UK right now. It's been really tough in Toronto, plus after being in the field for so long, you definitely don't want to take a step backwards and settle for just any design job..

at the moment there's not much around but I'm pretty sure that will pick up after the summer.. Its never easy finding work over here but to be honest there are a lot of people working who really dont have much talent, though they are probably very good at selling themselves.
