it was very good. as ZBoys did the smart thing and went for the celeb voiceover, in Giants Peralta used himself - and he sounds really square and nasely, like a 14 yr. valedictorian with nose plugs. He was doing the typical "so Blaird why are you the greatest most special bestest ever surfer who ever ever lived? please tell me?" WAY way too much of that.
BUT some of the old 50's footage, I have never seen - and I have seen a lot. That was cool.
The payoff (which made "step into Liquid" great - at the end the 100 miles off shore big wave riding site?) wasn't as impressive - that heavy Tahitian (?) wave.
DONT BE A DICK and leave too soon. There's like ten minutes more once the credits start.

I'd like to see it. That spot you're talking about is off the coast of California, only discovered a few years ago. Cortes banks I believe it's called. I read a ton of stuff on big wave riding on the Billabong site for the Odyssey. Amazing stuff.

I just got back from seeing it. It's great. Awesome motion work too. I didn't know that much about Laird, but he IS the man. So is everyone that was covered in that film. I didn't know flea was such a bad ass big wave rider.
I thought it was a great documentary. Peralta wasn't as annoying as someone here had mentioned, as he lets most of the surfers do the narrating for him.
Definitely stay for the extra footage though. Laird has 3 testicles, his own father confirms it!
