who has experience with integrating a flash-based front page into an existing intranet
i want to figure out the best to run this setup, for a client who is hosting internally

well that's gonna take some integrations with Flash Communication Server MX I would think and some knowledge of Cold Fusion (CFML). I could be wrong, as you might be able to use some other form of a back-end language but ideally speaking.

they are pushing to just have the first front page, utilize flash, and the rest be more templated using MS sharepoint, which i admittedly don't have any experience with
i was guessing that FL COM Server might be the only way to handle it, but am open to ideas as to how to make this work

so you want the front page to do what though? username and pass, etc, etc.? or what because you can pretty much link anything you want up the way you want it to be done.

it's just a question of tweaking an online site for intranet purposes [witrh some small differences]. You can have whatever kinda server [Communication, Apache, IIs] working over a backend solution like PHP/MySQL.
For instant messaging services u could use Flash Comm for example.

well, i was assuming ( sorry not much intranet experience here ) that since it was being served locally onsite that very little security would need to implemented...and they have not expressed the desire to have -u or -p on that front page
they have expressed the desire to animate the first intranet portal page...it will need to run on the flash 6+ player

well, I do my devloping locally [loclhost] so that could be considered a kind of intranet. the security shouldn't be necessarily high, altough you can give levels of acess to different users.
If flash is just going to b used for 'eye candy' that makes the job easier.

thx guys -
yeah, it is just for ' eye candy ' on tht first page.....just don't know the wisest way to handle that.....i mean everyone won't have the flash player installed in the various browsers when they access the intranet
i am just handling look and feel for a new direction with the intranet, though may end up doing the AS work, and hard-coding of that first pages skin.........i have no experience with FLASH COM Server, but thought would be my only sure solution to give everyone access to a flash based intranet....please school me if i'm wrong
i also won't be handling any of the security implementation
