Just started to use flvs etc in flash. I have an .mpg file (with audio) which I am importing into AfterEffects (The only video editing software I have :|) When I import....no audio. Anyone have any ideas how to solve?

what type of encoder are u using? Sorenson Squeeze never fails me. I prefer to use this instead of the flash's built in.

wicked. Downloading trial version now. Have you had any problems with audio?
- Anarchitect0
never. and the compression is amazing, regardless of the output [mov. flv, swf, etc.]
- silencer0
so you have imported .mpgs and .movs into this software and it maintains the audio for export to .flv?
sorry for all the questions its just I need to get this working in the next hour or so!

I'm definetely sure about .mov, .wmv and mp4.
I think there will be no problem with mpegs, because this is the professional version, that issue would be noticeable.

OMG I LOVE NT.
Thanks for the tips Anarchitect! IOU1.

err.. so it worked with audio mpegs?
- silencer0
*cry me a river. It works for .mov fine but not .mpg F***

used Sorenson Squeeze, it enables you to convert to different format and custom compress

also you can use something like Sony (Sonic Foundry/Mediasite's) Vegas Video, which will enable you to do a lot, you probably didn't capture the video correctly in the first place to be honest. A very common mistake. ;)

if you even use a free downloadable version of Vegas Video I can guide you through the capture process

nah, I didn't capture it, the client did. Basically I have 10 .mpgz which I need convert to .flv while preserving the audio. aaanddd noothhingg worrkss *breaks down in tears

It's cool, I know how to capture stuff. Just new with this .flv conversion gig and it's killing me softly!

u could try to convert the mpeg into an mov and then into a flv.
if it doesn't work then try this more complex way: with Quicktime Pro, save the audio in a file [ie. mp4] and the images in another file. Blend them together and save the final result as a mp4, mov, etc.

Thanks man, I'll give that a try.
