My office space and my home are one in the same. Some of you out there may have the same setup and know the joys of sitting in front of your computer all day shirtless, smoking, farting and idling on newstoday. We of course work when we have to, when we're inspired, or when it's necessary. But more importantly we have the ability to think and that is of the utmost importance to the creative problem solving mind.
In The Guardian today there is a great article on the life of the idle. Which does not equate idleness with being unproductive, it's more about being human.
Check it out if you're guilty of not being able to justify your idleness at times.

Forgot to ask, how many of you find this applicable in how you work? Do you agree with the premis? Have you ever put a project to bed for a bit then come back to it only to find that your subconscious has provided the answers that you couldn't divine to begin with? When are you most productive?

I have been doing the hole work from home thing for about a year now. At first it was great and I really loved it, but after a while I just felt I could never get away from the projects I was working on.
Perhaps if I had a office that could be sealed off from the rest of my place when I was tired of working or even a seperate machine that way I could have business and personal space.
If possible, I will not likely do the work from home thing again, though then again most places where I do work at full time understand the need to step away from a project for a bit and clear your mind or even veg out on NewsToday

I didn't read the whole article but it reminds me of the 'slow' movement, which i have highlighted here before.
