Printing help (another one)

A bit of a request. I dont have much education in printing. Ive been using the direct-from-file printing route (a la www.psprint.com for example).
Can someone recommend a book/s or site/s that gives a proper trashing in the subject. The process, file prep etc. and that is fairly easy to read/learn from.
And I realize nothing fills the shoes for school or practical experience but this is the best I can do for the moment. :|

"Getting it Printed" by Beach & Kenly is the ticket for a great, but complete, into in offset printing. I got my first copy years ago from an owner of a printshop after I f**ked up some trapping settings.
