Anyone ever use SpyderPro or any other screen calibrators? Worth it ($200+) or waste of time? If you have used it, did you calibrate CRTs or LCDs and whats your review on it.

i use it for an apple cinima lcd.
the other designer here does too.i try to uses it once a month. our work is color critical so we think its worth it.i used it on my crt before we got the lcd. but i soon found out there is no point in calibrating a shitty monitor. hehe

I actually thought there is no point in using it on an lcd.
Eventhough I love my lcd I found that is not a good reference for color when it comes to web, since the market standard is still crt, and for broadcast well..
crts are closer to tv than an lcd dont you think?
now for print that is a different issue.. what do you guys think?

hmm
I handle a lot of the print work and I am getting frustrated.
What is the deal if you have a so-called crappy monitor?
I have a pair of NEC Multisync 19"
Won't calibrating help? or are they to crappy to even take a proper calibrating? What do you think?

I used this at my last place. 10 crts 10 lcds - mixed mac and pc.
Incredibly helpful.
Best if one person does all the calibration though. The difference between the pro model is just a dif software package. I'd only go pro if you are doing color critical print work.
