This was my first time EVER seeing Rush live and I have to say that I was highly impressed. They played a nice mix of the classic Rush tunes that most people would know as well as new stuff and the ones that rate highly on the diehard Rush fan's list. But that's not what impresses me.
What impresses me is that these guys have been playing for 30 years together and still kick major musical ass. They don't retire and then have 'one last tour'. They keep on going. You have to love a band with that kind of longevity. Not too many bands have that kind of cred.

Great musicanship... they're just boring passionless and unimaginative.

gotta disagree with ya there..been a fan my whole life...
first album i ever owned was Moving Pictures...got it when i was 8 years old...
finally saw them for the 1st time last year..amazing.
for sheer sound quality, and talent live, they ranked right up there with the best live show i ever saw..which is pink floyd...
....
now, rush is one of them bands that you either love or hate...
my wife, fankly ..hates them...
can't stand Geddy's voice...oh well...can't please everyone...

I saw them perform on their last tour and it was amazing. That was my second Rush show. The first Rush concert I saw featured Primus as the opening act....good GAWSH!
I love how they can release relevant music yet retain their own style, and they just cannot seem to make mistakes musically.

Saw them 2 nights ago at hi fi buys amphitheater... absolutely amazing. 4th time seeing them live. Hard to believe that Geddy is 56.

they are amazing musicians, just plain sick on some songs. If it were the 16th Century they would be classical music gods, that's how good their knowledge of musical theory goes.
