    hey all,

i'm in the middle of a nightmare with a client -

doing a site with a 'friend' acting as the liaison between the client (his old friend) and me, gave them a *great* deal as a friendly gesture for what was originally a super-quick job (concept on friday, launch by tuesday), which has now drug on for weeks and been through five redesigns....

does anybody have some good, plain english contracts, agreements, or reference material that would help me assemble some clean terms to preface these deals with in the future?

    thanks in advance,

    snowcat

    no, but some advice....

rule #1- ALWAYS get 50% up front before anything happens. even for friends.

rule #2- let them know that it covers first part of the job (concept, design, maybe something created online so they can see)

rule #3- "can i get my $ back?" -- No, the 50% covered all the work ive done for you up to this point, see rule #2"

this way you can weed out those potential fucked up clients and not feel too bad is the job gets cancelled.
