I'm doing a menu in Quark...
my tabs align beautifully onscreen, but spread apart all funky when I print to my desktop printer.1. I KNOW quark is for professional output.
2. I KNOW quark sucks and I should have done it in Indesign

Check your printer's preferences, and make sure the paper size in quark matches the paper size the printer prefs thinks it's getting.

Almost sounds like you're missing a printer font....

so if it is a "missing printer font" issue, I guess I should save as a pdf and then print? this is a takeout/delivery menu that will not be professionally printed so no worries on high quality output. if it is a missing printer font, is my desktop printing the screen version of the font?
it's somewhat confusing, as another area of the document where I used tabs printed just fine.
I have mac osx, by the way.
