those buses are teh bestest

Indeed they are great.....but they're slow, don't move enough people and are hard to maintain..the newer ones are a better solution to londons transport issues.
This is old news anyway..they've been getting rid of them for ages and LT are very upfront about this. Apart from a few heritage routes, they are going to be scrapped...you can even buy old ones of LT when they come out of comissions...going price around £3k i think.

well you're right of course, shame they dont build a new version, I just like the hop on/offability.

yeah, that's the best thing about it. I hate the fact on the new ones, they corral you like cattle going to the slaughter house.
Doors beep, they open, everyone shuffles in....repeat..ad nauseum

This site?: http://savetheroutemaster.moonfr…
Theres a few people trying to save them.... or to design a new bus with the same qualities. Why not a new bus with the open-air rear platform, with air-curtains to keep out the weather, with disabled-access features, etc... Some people at the RCA are making proposals, and we (Car Design News) are hoping to support any inititiaves.
