when I try dial the internet with my mac at home (oh sweet dial up!)
it makes all the right sounds, goes quiet then a constant beep.... after it disconnects it tells me that there is no carrier...I've used dialup on my powerbook before but it ain't working now.
airport internet works fine though.
anyone else experienced this?

you have a problem with your phone line.

Is the modem plugged in?

call tech support and have them go through your settings with you. I doubt it is your phone line.

its all plugged in and stuff..
I use the same cable on my pc and that works fine..also it doesn't work while at my girlfriends, which I've also done previously.
I was wondering if I'd changed some config for the worse? No idea.

No carrier would indiacte that the signal on your line it too weak to be picked up by your modem.
In the UK you can phone BT and get the strength of the signal increased but em....your in OZ are you not?. If it doesn't work on other lines though..........fuck knows.
