- jevad0
cheers! gorb?
how do you breathe? well quite sharply at that height - accompanied by nausea and headaches the likes of which I have never felt.
- jevad0

not one for one-up-man-ship...
but I was at 5,500 metres (anout 16,000ft) for a week with a 16 kg backpack on.
I needed 02 all the time and vomited daily.
what fun

FUCK!
jesus ian I had enough trouble with 14,200!! another 2.000 would have done me in!

altitude is a killer.
- Gorbie0
what's funny, though jevad... is that you probably live higher than many people will ever travel!
what's Denver at.. like 5-6,000'?
- jevad0
heh - yeah about 5.200 ft? something close to that - when i first moved here I often needed to catch my breath a lot of the time jsut walking around!
- slag_you_off0
there you go...
- zedvox0
you needed to catch you breath cuz you are fat and out of shape!
hehehe

gorgeous photos nic... any tips re taking photos at altitude? i've heard batteries run out quicker? (Himalayas soon!)
- Peter0
Batteries run poorer when you get them into extreme or very cold environments.
Take the batteries out of your camera, warm them up a bit in your hand, maybe carry it in your mitten for a while and put it back after. Shoot just what you need and plan ahead.
if you asked me.

beautiful photos.
so the true american spirit is particularly similar to any other true spirit that understands (during the weekend) how small people really are and how beautiful this world is and how much we are... huh...
well, that's good to know, but it doesn't really show that much ;)
