can anybody give some programs (preferably freeware) to copy dvd to dvd(r)?

not sure about recording freeware. I use NERO.
but for decryptign and what-not, i use
DVD-Decrypter & DVD Shrink
they are both freeware, use google to find them.

on a MAC, i use OSEx 0.0101b to rip the dvd to TS folders, then i use DVDRemaster to shrink the TS folders to fit on a 4.7 gig dvd-r.

(free, to convert movie to below 4.7gb for burning to DVD-R)
