osx picture editing q?

is there an app that comes with osx that i can resizes photos with? perhaps change the brightness/contrast too?
dont have photoshop yet anad it's a pain to not have.

eeeehhh, im dumb. im not seeing iphoto that helpful. i can edit them but i cant save the picture? wtf?
maybe im just stupid.

There is no saving really. It justs edits the picture. You can drag it from iPhoto to your dekstop to make a copy...

Actually it does make a copy inside a subfolder of the location of the original, but you may have to dig around your Pictures folder. Clearly dragging the thumbnail out is a much better idea given the circumstances.

With the mac, its usually so simple its hard. Took me a week to figure out how to change my iChat icon. Turns out you just drag the new pic to the spot...
