i have a small problemo:
if you are linked to this page like this: http://www.vahk.nl/projecten/bdp…
you see a page.okay. (!)
but if you are linked from somewhere to that page, it isn't loaded inside an iframe in the homepage.
is it possible to do so?
i tried a few options like
"if (window == top) top.location.href = "../index.html";"
but then you're linked to the index.html, and not to the page INSIDE the iframe in de index.html

i hope someone understands what i try to ask.

I think you want that page been showed into an i-frame or something like that? So you've got to learn about it its a litle complexer than just saying the solution to you because we don't know how you are calling the frames.

you mean you want to ben able to directly link your home index but 'choose' which specific page is inside the iframe?
I dont think that it is possible.
thats the fucker about framesets and iframes.
- stewart0
exactly rasko,
that's what i want.impossible?!
man, what æsshole invented those frames.

You could do it with PHP or ASP. Do you have these on your server?
- derbs20
you could link as:
www.mysite.com/index.htm?page=1
and with PHP or ASP take the 1 and change what page the iframe references. You could do it with javascript as well
- stewart0
asp is installed.
can you give me a push in the right direction about how to do this?
a javascript solution would be great to...

ok go here:
http://80.234.160.78/misc/extras…
and if you change the page= bit the iframe changes
to get the code go here:
http://80.234.160.78/misc/extras…
and view the source

watch out for those spaces newstoday has put in the url
- stewart0
i can't access that pages derbs.
- stewart0
even when i delete the spaces.
sorry.
- stewart0
yes, this one i can...
- stewart0
wow, looks very interresting.
going to figure it out and get t to work.
thanks.
(btw, are there any cons doing this?)
- derbs20
The only con i can think of, is if someone types in something stupid in the page= bit. Then you would get a 404 error in the iframe.
You could check whether the page actually exists on the server using ASP. But that's a different lesson...
Also make sure your index page ends with .asp and not .html or anything else, or it won't work.
