hi, i'm new to this community...
i realized a lot of ppl use mac, so i decided to ask...
i have a 12" powerbook, with superdrive... some blank dvds work (memorex), but some don't (verbatim, fujifilm dvd+rw), the computer spit it out.
does anyone has the same problem? tnx!

Make sure you don't insert the DVD til the last possible moment in the process

all macs have dvd-r +r won't work
- nonlinear_guy0
so you mean, DVD-R is not the same as DVD+R?
silly me! that's exacly the problem!

yeap -R only buddie
- tymeframe0
from what i was explained, macs are strictly -R for consumer dvd player compatablity.
i think the first g4s (sawtooth) had dvd+r in them. Apple quietly switched over. i remember b/c i was freaking out when my disks weren't reading in the old computers.

firmware update... no dvd+r but some other cool features... beware: READ BEFORE UPDATING YOUR FIRMWARE ( warranty issues...)
worked for me...

hm, tnx for the answers. i just posted on craigslist, to barter my 10 blank DVD+Rs to DVD-Rs, NYC area...
I'll try to return it on best buy, but with no receipt, it's gonna get though!
tnx a lot.

craigs list is good

that's odd, because the drive does support dvd+r/rw media, it's a panasonic UJ-815 drive
- nonlinear_guy0
which driver, chortik? you mean, the powerbook 12" superdrive?
i've read the 816 accepts "+" cds... below that, it doesn't...
BTW, i visited your site, nice pics!
