Where's the CN Tower?
- -leah-0
cn tower is canadian so it doesn't count :(
- fifty500
that's gayness... like Greg Lou-
- JazX0
I don't know but the new WTC will stand tall and tell all haters to f*ckoff.
- function820
The CN tower is more of a radio tower/look out point than a building... if it was tall structures it would be in there somewhere
- Mimio0
CN Tower is pointless.
- Spix0
I guess, that just like many other tall buildings, it was not part of the study.
- function820
its not pointless, its a radio tower... serves tv and radio signals in toronto, as well as other things... also has a pod in it so you can look out onto the city... i've never been, but it looks nice
- k0na_an0k0
half of those buildings don't even exist. wtf?!?
- mrdobolina0
isnt all tv going to satellite and cable? who uses an antenna anymore?
- function820
you'd be surprised... plus alot of stations are available without cable... even though they are terrible quality most of the time
- strabley0
canada doesnt matter anyways. its just USA Jr.
- mrdobolina0
I know that in america, they are going to be giving that portion of the spectrum back to the FCC soon (within a few years). meaning you won't be able to use an antenna anymore for tv
- k0na_an0k0
what are all those ham radio operators to use?
- nick0
what was the winning design for the new WTC anyways?
- fifty500
Nevertheless, even if the CN Tower is not an office building, it's still a building, and it's still the tallest in the world, so why is it not on that site? like someone else said, half of those other buildings don't even exist! The CN Tower has lots of things in it anyways. It's got a rotating restaurant at the top, 3 lookout decks, and yes it serves as a radio and tv transmitter. it's got multiple purposes. so why the hell isn't it on that site? because it's REAL?
oh yeah, and whoever said canada is only america jr. can go f*ck yourself. canada's way better.
- mrdobolina0
I dont see it saying anything about being the 'tallest' buildings, 50.
- Luna0
I want to go to China.
- k0na_an0k0
easy 50. it's a line from the simpsons. 'america jr.'
i think the way they describe it (the people in charge of tall building whatevers) classify the cn tower as a structure, not a building... like a bridge. which is b.s. also b.s. is their classification of spires on top of a building. chicagos two would make it the tallest building in the world, but they are 'radio antennas' so they don't count, but the spire on the top of the tallest building in the world somehow counts?!? they are fucked up.

#11 is insane. Imagine living on the top floor...

this exhibition focuses on tall buildings that were designed within the last 10 years. that expalins why a) the CN Tower is not part of the exhibition, and b) why most of these buildings have not been built (it usually takes up to 10 years or more to realize a project at this scale)
speaking of tall buildings and china, they've annonced today that OMA's CCTV project (part of the Tall Buildings exhibition) has been shelved for financial reasons.
