just a thought.
I work like a rabbit on heat sometimes and often put in more than my contracted hours at the office. If I'm developing code/imagery outside of the hours that my contract states who has the rights to the IP?

depends on who you work for then.
if you work for your boss during extra hours, it is still your boss his IP in my opinion.
btw, on developing code (at least for the interweb) is no IP, is it??

Open source is a great thing but yr code is yr code until you open up the source and let it out!
