The Japanese version was pretty scary. Since that was the original I wasn't really into the copy one released afterwards.

There's no short r in Japanese.
There's:

Meaning, ring being pronounced ringu

no point in watching the US version, watch the japanese one.

you thought the japanese one was scary? don't you remember how they just made funny faces when anyone died? the only scary part of the japanese version was when she came out the tv almost at the end. it looked scary because they taped her backwards so the movements looked all weird.
