Make sure when you do get your bike (like a GSXR600) you do something completely stupid like stick a turbo charger on it. Like this guy:

Buells are unreliable
R6's are nice bikes to ride but you really got to know what to do with that power.GSXr, Aprilia Mille R, Ducati 999r are the bikes to aim for in future (esp the new 999r)
For a newb I would go for the SV650 (new shape) or the new Fazer.
Unlike me who rides an Aprilia RS250 just for the hell of it :)
