splashpage pricing

i'm sure this has been asked before, so my apologies but i was wondering what an average price to pay would be to get a splash page done. After that, a per page price...i know it's vague...

even if the website is anywhere from 5 to 10 pages?could i ask why it's not good to charge or pay per page?

if you must charge per page figure out how much you'd do the whole site for then divide by the estimated number of pages. you do i by page and you're gonna get the shaft.
150 per page sounds worse than 750 for a 6 page site for some reason to clients. oh well.
for a 5-10 pager anywhere from 650 - 1100 if it's a straight forward site ya know. and even that is cheap. i always bid out on a per site basis. the only reason i have you a page amount is cause you asked. i generalized and gave you a figure.
