Recently, I got a call from a design firm I was interviewed a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't about the posistion, but for a project they wanted to throw at me. The project is an interactive flash module for TREK's new line of bikes called LIQUID TREK.
I've never done a project for an agency or for a big name company such as Trek. They asked me for an estimate cost on the project but I don't want to over/under estimate. Any advice on how to handle my situation or maybe the middle price range for such project? Also, is there any legalities I should prepare for such as contracts? Thanks so much in advance.

if you want to go to an extreme, go get a copy of treks annual report. that will give you an idea if what they are paying the agency. the agency wants to milk you. dont let it happen.
maybe get a copy of the graphic artists giuld handbook if you dont have it.

figure your hours for what the project calls for up front.
make sure the contract covers additional pay for additional work.
now double what you thought for hours.give it to them.

dont bid to low.. because that will set your Worth for the future.
Asking for decent money isnt a bad thing... it sets your worth for the future and prevents you from getting screwed over not only at the moment.. but in the long run
