when are the new g5 powerbooks coming out? if ever? i know this has been discussed before but i dont give a shit.
also, im getting this for sure unless those new g5's are coming out very soon:

The superdrive is shit. you'll be burning cd's at 16x instead of 24x

pb g4's came out about 18 mos after the powermac g4. If the same timeline applies, then expect them March next year.

oh yeah, and buy the memory from Crucial, not Apple. They charge you just tp put it in which takes 2 minutes plus an extra couple hundred for the chip.

well im not really paying for it, so im not concerned about buying overpriced RAM. and yeah, mac's are expensive, but i am pretty sure that i will be very happy with it.
right now i just have a Dell Dimension 4300, 256M RAM, used to have 512, but the second card fucking CRASHED. 32MB video...photoshop and all that shit...
this computer is hard pressed to have photoshop AND imageready open AND play music...but i am pretty sure teh powerbook im getting will be able to more than handle that.
