The firm that I'm working at is currently freaking out because the products that we offer are being offered by a different company for a lower price (although the quality isn't as good). So we're getting faxes from our clients saying "wtf? these guys have the same product for cheaper." But it's not quite the same product.
anyways my boss seems to think that our competition looked at the Client List on our website and are emailing all of our clients. So not only did they say to take the Client List off the website, but also censor out all the company logos in the portfolio section on the site.
I personally think it's stupid because if they can't handle the friggin competition then they deserve to lose these clients. So everyone around here is freaking out.
What should we do?

this is stupid. Either the product is better or you are overcharging, its that simple, hiding logos/clientlists isn't the problem.

that's exactly what i'm saying but they won't listen to me.

but since they're the bosses, anything they say must go.

supply and demand. make your clients happy at all costs and make sure you make your money. done.

I would have thought yuor bosses asked to put their clients names on the site? Which in turn should show an endorsement of the product/service, so why are they sweating.

that's why the names were on the site, to show that we deal with big clients, and now they are telling me to take them off because "it's done nothing but bring trouble"

your bosses SHOULD stand behind their product/service and justify the cost, not go crying everytime a litle competition comes around -they're just playign into the competitions hands

that's exactly what i'm trying ot tell them

so what the hell do i do about the portfolio section? just blank out the logos and remove any references to the company name and make the menu "project 1, project 2, etc?" that's just stupid.... but I can't tell them i won't do it
