Why is it not possible to install OSX etc onto a normal PC???
If linux can do it why can't OSX even though its structured on the same technology??
Probly a glaringly stupid question with a simple answer... but anyway..

proprietary technology mainly.
quartz, apple's display rendering system is not open source, same with a couple other technologies that apple uses. their underlying OS is, but not the stuff to actually implement it

1. Different types of computers cannot run programs meant for other types of computers.
2. You can however, code one program in a programming language and then have that code compiled (translated) for use on different computers.
3. Linux is coded and compiled for different systems. However, one version of Linux cannot be run on any computer, only the platform it was compiled for.
4. Mac OS X has never used Linux. It uses FreeBSD actually, another Unix derivative like Linux is.
5. FreeBSD (and Darwin, Apple's version of FreeBSD) can be compiled to be used on a PC.
6. Mac OS X is not just Darwin however, and the code for the window environment (the program that sits atop of Darwin, basically), is controlled by Apple and they won't let it be compiled for the PC.

the question is, why on earth would any reasonable person want to run OS X on PC and suffer all crashes and slowly running HW?

success comes through faliure..
Once all bugs have been eradicated, Apple will have a bigger user base.. consider that most of the human world uses Windows not OSXWhich could be changed ;)

except apple primarily is a hardware company, not a software one. If they did port Mac OS X, they'd be out of business eventually. They almost did when they allowed other companies to make Macs.
Besides, the tight coordination between Apple's hardware and software is where Macs get their advantage. If Mac OS X were run on PCs, it's just be another Windows clone (albeit a better engineered one) and be even more irrelevant.

you can run Mac OSX on PC there is a thing kinda like virtual PC its open source i think....not very good but you will be able to run it...but you will also have crash's////Google it no i don't have a link.............

the reason why is that pc users would then have to buy artfag glasses, wear black all the time and deveelop an elitist attitude. ;)
