Americans really dunno how to distinguish Taiwan from Thailand right?

everytime i tell someone i'm taiwanese, they say something about thailand... cracks me up! I'm always like "no! TAIWAN, ya know, the place with a surplus of cheap plastic thingys!"

Ha, is it weird? Sorry about that.
Anyway since i'm a taiwanese I'd really like to know how people feel about my country. I know that people do not like the dog-killing thing, but when you have lots of crazy dogs on streets and nobody take care of them, the government will have to do something on this social issue.

the dog problem is outta control there, when i visited awhile back, it was insane, did you see that anteism thing that was broadcasted?

Ya, as a guy from taiwan, it's so embarrassing. I feel sorry for those pitiful dogs.....
What I want to say is that people in Taiwan are not so cold-blooded and you can not always make your judgement by a mere glimpse. As I mentioned before, this is a social issue - no one would like to see an island full of stray dogs. Maybe killing them is not the best idea, but i think our government has did their evaluations and decided to take the sin.

Here's what I know about Taiwan or have heard in passing:
-Taiwanese don't like to be called Chinese.
-Taiwanese have a problem with peeping toms and tiny video cameras.
-Stuff that is "Made in Taiwan" is supposedly cheap(quality-wise), however they are leaders in making computer parts.These are just some that came to mind, please dispell these rumors, if they are...
