just bought an ipod but it has a small skip when it moves onto the next track. its well annoying. is this normal or is there a setting somewhere?

are you listening music which in the original cd didn't have a gap in between songs? could be the prob?
- v3nt0
not sure. alot og my music is mixed so the tracks often lead onto each other as opposed to stop track 1 than start 2.
it doesn't it do it when i play from itunes so its nothing to do with the file!!??

you should ask the question on http://www.ipodlounge.com

already have, it doesn't doesn't do it with all the albums though!?

thats cuz ipod doesnt have the fade/blend transition into tracks..and itunes does.
so if youa re listein to a non-stop mix...in ipod it will only recognize the tracks and have that annoying break....
simple way to counter this rip the mix as one single track.
cheers

but then u loose all the album info. It doesn't do it on all of my albums on the ipod. some don't have those gaps at all so there has got to be a way of getting rid of them.

i wish ipod had a crossfade setting like itunes.

Best stick to Lp's then.

all mix cds will have a gap between songs on the ipod. Its to do with the buffer. Rip all mix cds as one single track, in iTunes go to advanced/join cd tracks, then call the first track whatever the album is and who its mixed by then rip it. So what if you loose the song names, better to have a seemless mix imo.

its not from the buffer.. all mp3 tracks have a little gap at the start to store the id info. if you open an mp3 in a wave editor you will see the visible gap.
