bit lacking on style but for a functional site it serves its purpose well, didn't go through the whole site of course but all seems fine in safari, osx.

only thing that pisses me off is that long ass pull down
- tymeframe0
yeah like what about search by state....then city?
- tfsmag0
i told them that too, but they wanted it ALL in there...
as for the style, i had it a bit more gussied up, what you're seeing is the changes after the client mutilated it :/

umm one thing i noticed is that you have to scroll through too many parks on the entry page to find whatever park youre looking for. my suggestion is to have a basic heirarchy of information... states... then parks in whatever state you selected more like what you have going once your in the site.
thats my 2 cents.

yeah...that long ass pull down has got to go....or atleast have it organized better.

skillet: i originally suggested that to the client, but they insisted on having all parks in the drop down because they wanted to search engines to be able to index it with all the park names in that page?
they were pretty firm on it
- tfsmag0
can you think of a better way to organize the drop down?
i figured by state was the best way to go since they wanted all the parks to come up there...

clients are always fucking up the works.

orgainize it by many bladers show up at the park. start from 0.

couldnt search engines pick up commented out code in html? ive seen many sites do that. you could take the whole list of skate parks and put it in a comment tag at the very top of the index page.... and then organize the drop down into multiple drop downs where you choose state first then skate park run on sentence.

That pull-down menu is horrible. It kills the site completely... I'd go to Google to find a skate park before suffereing through that mess.

hahah! i just showed this thread to the guy i'm doing the site for now he wants to get rid of the stupid splash page completely and just make a full park index page that would be linked directly under the search box.
it would basically just be a full list by state, no drop down, on it's own page and it wouldn't be forced on you like the drop down is.
thanks guys!
