You can configure a web server to parse any file type you can think up. You just tell it what you want to parse it with. I had some .orb file being parsed by IIS' ASP.NET before. .orb is nothing, I just wanted to have them as my file extension. In theory you could even have .php parsed by ASP or vise versa.
