So it seems my girl is leaving me to go back up north, i hate my low paying, no future corporate job, i hate the city of Tampa, i haven't felt this depressed in, well - ever.
Any suggestions?

if it's the ladder, you best sack up, quit that shit job and hauls ass with her. shitty jobs are in every city, go find one where she's going. or better yet, believe in yourself and find a great job

Man...it's such a shit job, but it's my first in the field, i guess I am attached because it give me security, but it is not at all where I wanna be.
And yes, she is leaving me because she hates it here, and I haven't shown a commitment to move.

i moved to a new city with a girl back in 99. we had nothing, my portfolio was sad, and i had to work a shit job for a while. but damn it was so exciting. cause of the pressure and all, and building a life.

Being from Tampa I must advise getting the hell out of there as fast as you can.
I agree with BonSeff, there are crap jobs everywhere, I'll also add unless you own the company there is no "real" security.

I can't afford to light up. Plus, coke is everyones fix here, but its just not my thang.
Thanks for the advice so far though, I have yet to have anyone tell me something good about Tampa, guess I should have stayed in Baltimore.

I guess I am a little scared of finding another job. I only have an Associate and I am looking at going back to school. I am pretty confident in my skills, but I always have a hard time selling myself. Of course I have never tried to get a job in this field in any place other than Tampa. So.

Go for it. Do whatever you hope for.

Look at the reason why your gilr left you. If its YOU, then work on that area.
