How long have cd's been around for now? As a medium for music, how much longer do you thing they've got? I personally don't want to see everything go to mp3 as I'll always want a nice album cover to look at, but what else is there?

If you think about it, it is really logical that multimedia presentations are really more useful and dynamic than record covers. I see the future going like this:
1. You buy a CD through iTunes
2. You are sent a CD-R with the printed design on the disc.
3. You are also given access to a CDImage file that you download and it burns all of the enhanced CD or DVD material as well as the music on the CD you were sent.
4. Put it in your disc drive or DVD player to see the Album Art and liner notes and videso, etc..As I see it the computer is going to be the center of everyones entertainment system in the future so you'll have a computer drive instead of a regular CD player anyways.

yeah, i'm a big fan of vinyl and have a lot of my favourite albums (new and old) on record. its a shame everything isn't available because that would be my preffered way to opperate: Buy an album on vynil and get free download in mp3 format.... best of both worlds
