"...incase someone tries to take him out"
???
Do you mean a spectater? Because this isn't roller derby. Cyclest don't do that in the Tour. They would have their nuts cut off and mailed back to them if they did.

cycling isn't for sissies AT ALL carver.
200+ kilometers a day for a few weeks is for idiots.
but i have fun to see them suffer.
i know what they feel. i do cross-country and mountainbiking. that's more fun than on road, but 1,5 times harder.

This is weird, we had the same exact thread and conversation last year... :D
I was cycling pretty hardcore when I was in junior high and high school. All I could think about was wanting to be in the TDF someday.
I miss it, I loved that sense of competitiveness with myself and with people I was in races against. It was a blast.

Past six years: L. Armstrong = 6, everyone else = 0 and not many people care

everyone i know was against lance

mg33 - me too, used to race a lot, got sponsored, dreamed of the TDF then everyone I rode with left for uni and I got bored of training alone. Miss getting out on my bike every day and racing on the weekend. Living in the city doesn't help either.

I hate all the doping talk about Armstrong. I think it boils down to the good chance he has a hell of a lot more determination, training dedication, and ability to withstand how punishing cycling at that level can be.

they've tested him over and over and have come back negative everytime. the drugs he took was when he had CANCER.
he gets no respect. pretty sad.
RESPECT to him for training so damn hard all year.

i have the utmost respect for the man and actually watched a bit on him on sunday and was so inspired i feel like i have a new energy about my own training.
he's a great athlete that i think gets dealt a lot of shit for no reason. it's a shame.

let's face it, nobody can beat him. he's cocky but it's deserving
