hello all.
I'm very new in the DV business and I'm just trying to capture my first video from Sony PC105E, using final cut. However, FC doen't see the video at all. Is that because it's connected via USB? Does it need to be connected via firewire? If that's not it, what could be the problem?
thanks!

Just follow the instrctions exactly.I've only used firewire to caputre, and you have to plug into the system, then the camera, turn on the camera, then launch Final Cut. Then you should see everything in the Log and Capture window.

I'm sure it's possible, but firewire is faster from what I'm told. In practicality that's all I've used. :\

see, the thing is, the only option it gives me for external video is "FireWire PAL" which is "missing". That's why I think it HAS to be firewire. Right?

Yes, you have to use firewire with Final Cut Pro.
