Stewart, that first little bit was just sarcasm, cause I was impressed with your ability to create sometihng in such a short space of time that was better than Vinney
But the rest was directed at Vinney
*now i'm confused
- stewart0
okay! if you need a website online in two days you can allways email me.

Hey Vinney, instead of writing a description of yourself (in the third person to boot), let your work speak for itself. If you're "professionally qualified and experienced", your work will reflect it, and you won't have to say so in your intro. Your clients will see it for themselves.
Check out some great examples of sites that incorporate some of the elements you like (like date and time on the bottom, Flash-driven, etc.):
http://www.thanea.com/ars/
http://www.pgiinteractive.com/
http://www.visualplane.com/And make use of the Resources thread in the PVN.
You're on the right track posting your site here. Just don't beat yourself up from the negative crits. You gotta start somewhere, right?
- stewart0
and if you put a 18Mb powerpoint on your website, please host it on a quicker server.
normally i reach 400k/s +
but your pps did 40kwoops.

Stewart et al - I can potentially help you get work, but I cant help you with your design work - that would just be wrong
- your friendly local recruiter :)

poor Vinney.
Dude redo it from scratch, it doen't have to take ages but it IS worth it, this is an investment afterall.. Rewrite the copy, dont be cheesy, keep it simple and the correct tone, dont try to look too big and dont fuck around with buzzwords.. Keep the site simple, no naff 'filteresque' backgrounds, no unecessary holiday photos - totally irrelevant. Just think about what you need to say and show, which is basically "hello, I'm Vinney, I do this, this is what I have done', and then show your folio, this is the most important, people want to see what you are capable of not read the latest irrelevant 'news'. Strip that superfluous shit out. And cut the cheesy fonts, choose a loof and stick with it, dont mix type styles and alignment, put some css on your contact form and make sure it works ok in ALL major browsers.. thats about all i can say. Good luck.

JPG JPG JPG
You should look into gifs and png's. the jpg's are blurry and makes the site look messy.
the first link opens a new window, but the address doesn't work on safari, dunno about PC browsers, and the second works fine but doesn't open a new window, no consistency.
I agree the navigation is burned from apple, and being so obvious is more than a little tacky. I also see spacer issues in the navigation, with some pages giving a small white pixel sized space.
One of the things that can really save a simple site is the photography, but the photos are all blurred and almost look like vid caps. I agree that the tone you set with talking about yourself in the third person is unsettling, especially when you read the news and it is not in the same format....
leaves you feeling like the site is impersonal.
last, and sorry for all the harsh crits, the purple....ugh, yuckky.

hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
you need to smoke weed alone in a room for a year with no human contact whatsoever

oow ouch...
- stewart0
BeachBoy, thank you.
but "help you get work" sounds terrible, like i'm an unemployed.
you know what, turn this 180 degrees: if you know nice people who need simple but effective and welldesigned websites, i can help them!
- stewart0
oh, and yet another thing.
is fliers the new flyers?
or is it just my poor english?
- lnu0
I would like to add a friendly reminder that what the people here at Newstoday think is good, hot or pretty isn't always the same as what potential clients think (Just do a search on "clients", "stupid clients", "I f**king hate all my clients" in the PVN. However, it's nice to see some serious criticism here too and there's a lot of good stuff in the replies you've gotten so far.
- Neuarmy0
i don't think hes coming back...
- lnu0
I just checked out all his PVN broadcasts and it looks like he's taken a beating a couple of times before...
- stewart0
