it sounds like theyre just dumbing down the movie to make some extra money or something. ):
and i mean, really, it was pretty much independant to begin with, so i don't see why the directors cut couldn't have been released initially.

I think there will be a lot new stuff. The Original still would have been edited. It was Richard Kelly's first film, so they wouldn't have let him go tooo crazy.

What is so special about this movie? So many people have told me to watch it. Every time they do that they say they didn't understand it, but yet, they really loved it.

they didnt release the directors cut orignally because they didnt have the money or time to do what the director wanted. the main changes are supposed to be in the music, and a few new scenes that help solidify the idea behind the movie and the directors concept... basicly it could make it better, or ruin it... hopefully it will be solid.

I really really really really liked that movie. Couldn't care less about all those geeks in forums trying to make sense out of it though... As if everything really has to be explained to death.
Hope the leave it as puzzeling as it was.

Its just some pretentious pseudo-indie crap that people are really precious about because they either like it because its "weird" or they actually payed attention and grasped the easy to understand plot in which case they think they're super smart and if you ever point out the obvious short comings of it they'll get all "well not everyone can understand a temporal paradox" on you. Ignoring the fact you understood the film perfectly well you just think several elements of it were pretty shit and or pointless.One of those films then.

it's an amazing movie, everybody should have seen it. surely if you know he wrote it before his twenties and directed it something like 3 years later.

i loved donnie darko, it is one of my favorite movies ever. all of the music sequences were amazing and gave me chills!

no sorry but i think it is AMAZING! plus i got to meet jake gyllinhaal in person and i kept saying donnie darko is awesome over and over again, he was like "ok, thanks!"
