was this supposed to be funny?
If not, then I advise you to hold on to your chair before clicking the link below.

It's funny how people think they live in the center of the world. Everyone assumes that their surrounding is 'default' for everyone else on the planet. When I stayed in the US I was surprised that tv news from Europe were served at the end, rather as something more curious than important. Which was true, European news were just a small part of the world news for them. So, before you start laughing at the Aussie, ask yourselves if you ever saw an australian dollar bill. Are you completely sure what the symbol is? I agree, not knowing Euro is kind of lame, but keep in mind that while € is a part of your reality it's not for most of the world.

odd that you should be watching news about the US while here....?
i lived in asia for 6 months and very rarely did I hear much more info than the basic goings on in the US.
of course...I understood why, because I was in asia,

the '€ ' symbol isnt on our keyboards here, and we dont see it listed on many website, its either USD's $ or the GBP.
I know what it is but you can forgive someone who might not

Or maybe this means that we should not just rely on "the news" for information.
Be more active. Spent less time on NT.
- 100Man0
sorry. I just don't get why anyone here would think or judge him based on not knowing a stupid symbol.
- 100Man0
dont forget that europe and its neighboring continents live extremly close to one another. The western world, aus and asia does not and we can go through life having never seen the currency. there is no reason we should have ever seen it and it means nothing and says nothing about our knowing or not knowing the important things about eachother.
- 100Man0
it's not like its inexpensive for us to travel there either.

"odd that you should be watching news about the US while here....?"
No, that's pretty obvious, but 'something in me' expected more Europe in the American tv. It's what I'm writing about. Your view of the world depends on where you are, on your perspective. For EU guys not knowing Euro sounds funny, but really, you don't have to be dumb not to know € if you live on the other side of the planet. I'm not criticizing anyone, it's just interesting how people 'centerize' the world around themselves.

"it's just interesting how people 'centerize' the world around themselves."
who centerized themselves? who? why should the US broadcast Euro news? wtf? why because Europe broadcasts US news? uh. The US is the lead right now incase you didn't know. Europe is not. talk about centerizing yourselves.

This could be the most ignorant piece of shit I've ever read. Are you for real?
- haga0
Judging by your other thread you're not. Move along people, nothing to see here.
