ive got a decent sized party of family and friends willing to go overseas to see my tie the knot. has anyone married in italy? anyone very familiar with italy and have some pointers.
its always better to get opinions from people who have been there rather than relying completly on websites and travel agents trying to sell me stuff.
the best time for everyone in my party to go is in june. then my hubby and i are off to greece.

you or your hubby from there or you just wanna get married there cause it's 'romantic'?
a good friend of mine got married in belize and expected all his friends and family to come down to share his wedding. there were 9 people. not my idea of a wedding. it was beautiful though but only 9 peeps got to experience it.
congrats on the engagement btw.

well..
i'm expecting 10 people but up to 15. thats exactly my idea of a wedding. i'll have a big party when i get home though. but my fiance proposed in venice california on the canals. kinda cute if we can go back and do it on the real thing. its not that random.
i dont want a big wedding.. the thought of that makes me want to vomit. i just enough people to fill a small villa and make a lotta noise. different strokes for different folks i suppose. my sister had a 400 person wedding and it was a giant stress ball for her and my mother. our weddings compared, mine will be much cheaper.

I recommend these friends of mine:

they plan stays customized to your particular interests

if the bride wants a small wedding, she gets a small wedding. if the bride wants to be married in italy, she gets married in italy.
these are easy rules.
my wedding was quite small and it was a lot of fun.
best wishes to you and your soon-to-be husband.

congrats on the wedding.
If you are going to do the Venice thing, i suggest staying in Padova. Its only about a 15 minute drive from Venice, its a funky university town, and its cheap.

well. we may stay near venice for few days... but might relocate somewhere else shortly after the wedding for a party with sun, a view and lots of wine.

u have to be careful about venice - soemtimes in the summer it gets wicked hot and the rivers stink!!!
- shellie0
really? ew.
ok... maybe we'll swing by venice jsut so say we were there. stinky water doesnt sound too sweet.

i lived in venice for 6 months. not the greatest in the sweaty stinky summer but in the spring it is a different city altogether. its just you and the locals.

I have been to a wedding last sunday, here in italy, it was in a old 'villa' near pordenone 1 hr driving north from venice.
I can post some pics of the villa if you want.
anyway avoid venice between june and august... full of turist and too much humidity..
