Sitting here with a client.
She's got a PowerBook G4.Says it's "running buggy" and wants me to "set it back to how it was when I bought it."
What's the best way to help her? Will a Clean Install fuck her up?
Any wisdom is appreciated.

does she want to keep the data and apps intacted?

Yeah - I assume so.
(I don't think she's the type to have backed up any data/apps, if you know what i mean).

Thers 3 options in the Install dialogue..I think you want the 2nd one (Archive and Install). It doesnt touch user data, keeps a copy of the old system folder and makes a new one... (I think)..read the intructions.

Try repairing disk permissions with the Disk Utility application first, that can sometimes help.
You should also check what version of Mac OS she's on and if it's up-to-date or not. Run Software Update and install any OS updates it offers.

You might also want to get a better list of symptoms than 'running buggy'...also, does she have Applecare cover?
