what the fuck is it with asparagus and making your piss stink so bad?
Methyl Mercaptan was once believed to be the culprit, everyone extretes this compound but apparently some people are genetically incapable of smelling it -lucky for them. The sulfur-containing amino acid methionine is suspected as the precursor in asparagus, the same sulphur group that causes skunks to smell.
That has been todays dose of randomness.

Yep... always catches me off guard too. I eat the stuff then pee later on and all but fly into a panic thinking something is desperately wrong with me.

omg was just talking to someone about this! it is very strange. i love aspargus and eat it all the time, thus...well you get the picture.
i've heard you can get weird effects by eating lots of beets, but i not being a big beet conoisseuse, could not say.
