Anyone have a good tutorial or ideas on how to get the hot-branding effect on a steak or piece of meat, like BoarsHead?
Just text on meat...

While this might be the real, real coolest thread ever, my DIY senses make me want to tell you to visit a blacksmith and have the desired "brand" forged in metal, after which you can brand a steak, take a photo, and basically have something that no one else has.

I try making the brand in AI, bringing it in to PS, Transforming it to the right perspective, makeing a patha dn selection from it, then copying the steak in that selection area into a new frame and then using the burn tool with some blurring.

The 'burn' tool?! :)

Thats going to be a fun exercise in fliter trial and error combined with actual artistry on your part.
or a few hours tracking down a filter/action that does it.

obtain steak.
set up camera on a tripod at the angle you want and take a picture of the raw meat.
burn said meat, then take another with the same angle, setup.
import both pics into ps, and use the burnt pic as a texture for masked text on the raw meat.

don't forget to eat the steak.
