link mac to tv?

I've bought apple's video adapter in the hope of linking my ibook to the tv, it is all linked up correctly but no matter what tv i try it on the picture is black & white. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

did you change the res settings?

When the adapter is plugged in it looks as if it automatically changes it to 800x600 other than that i haven't changed anything.

yep, I am having the same problem with a Powerbook and I wonder why...
Btw samb, how many pins does your s-video -> scart cable have? Mine has 4. It would be worth checking to see how many does the original Apple cable have...
Anyone experienced the same problem? We would appreciate some help here ppl. Cheers ;-).

That is an s-video problem, your tv probably does not support the 5pin s-video cable. i dont know the mac adapter, but on my pc i can switch the s-video jack from (i think) composite to analog which fixes it. If you cant find a way to switch it, spit on apples face or something
