with a little more work i think #7 would have that feel

1a, but take a bigger bite out of it (and make it negative)

i am a sucker for forks

moon phases in the last one's circles?
or maybe i've seen harry potter's chamber of secrets too many times.

2A or B, although none of them are *that* great. 3 and 5 is totally tennis. 6 reads "Ceclipse". 7 looks like something you threw in there just to fill two columns.

with #7 you should make the circles different stages of an eclipse

I prefer the designs with spoons and forks in the design better than the onew without.
My favorite definitely = 5
then 3
then 4a as an alternative approach.2a and 2b are nice, but almost too common a concept. Though you could invert the colors on the spoon and fork and it might create nice contrast.
I like the concept of 1a and 1b, but feel something lacking in the presentation.
Really nice stuff all around!

4a has potential and 1b is a good idea but not executed properly (imo). The fork and spoon stuff... no way. My thought would be to play with 1b and try using a font with a round "C". Only makes sense to be using circluar imagery in the font....

The logo is for a new restaurant coming to town called 'eclipse'. It is supposed to have an upscale/hip feel.

(jun 23 04, 12:10)i think number seven (with some work) could have that feel, the rest remind me of cheap diners or chain restaurants or something

2B is cool.... getting close to the "blocking out idea" looks like the spoon is covering something up. But if I didn't know it was a restaurant, then it wouldn't look much like a spoon at first.
1a and 1b are obvious ideas, but they work the best so far.
definitely lose 3, 4a, 4b, 5, 6, 7

whats the look and feel of the restaurant? or are they going to base it on your logo???
have you seen their cutlery? tables? interirors????they are all ok at best none of them grab me in a hip/upscale way.

the owner is opening this up as his second restaurant- the first has about the same feel, intimate interior, dim lighting, gourmet foods. live music a few days a week, stuff like that, the owner really wants a hip/clean feel, however youd like to interpret that. the website for his current restaurant is bluemoonbistro.com
